212 Water Street, Block Island
(401) 466-2473 (restaurant), (401) 466-2102 (fish market)

We have a bad habit of going to Block Island in the off-season, which means we usually miss the opportunity to enjoy a more-than-satisfying meal of steamers, stuffies, and chowder at Finn's. Their New England clam chowder (invariably referred to as "award-winning"), is delicious and teeming with tender bits of clam. Veering from tradition, their stuffies are garnished with melted jack cheese and bacon. Another popular favorite is the hot lobster salad sandwich, and Finn's menu includes all of the other requisite seaside fare, as well, to eat-in or take-out. Finn's Fish Market, in business for over forty years, is right next door, so all of their seafood offerings are as fresh as can be. The restaurant also serves cabinets, and Yankee Magazine recommends the strawberry-rhubarb pie. On fair weather days enjoy your meal on the upstairs deck overlooking Old Harbor.

Finn's opened in 1977, downstairs from Ernie Sherman's Old Harbour Restaurant (established circa 1960), and inherited many of its recipes.

Finn's Seafood Restaurant is open from Memorial Day to Columbus Day. Check their website for current hours. The fish market is open 10am-7pm daily, mid-June to mid-September.
