Ghostly Sightings, Unexplained Occurrences, and Tales Both Tall and True from Early New England
Providence
6-7:30pm
Aldrich House, 110 Benevolent Street. Robert Geake, author of Death in Early New England: Rites, Rituals and Remembrance, will explore the documentation in diaries, letters, books, and newspapers that recount an array of unexplained activity, witchcraft, and ghosts throughout Rhode Island and New England. We’ll see how these early forms of “social media” intrigued the public and led to the macabre forms of communicating with “spirits” that were to come with the Victorian age.
