Yvette, of Sarasota, Florida, takes issue with our assessment that New York Lunch is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. She remembers the place as "one of my favorite post-midnight, wild-and-crazy-youth-type hangouts," and adds that, "Woonsocket weiners have the 'je ne sais quoi' that other Rhode Island weiners don't have." Customer reviews on Yelp! and Foursquare, at al, uniformly sing the praises of the weiners and the coffee milk.

Reportedly, New York Lunch has been in business since around 1921. Around 1956 it was taken over by the Dupont family, which has run it since. Tim Dupont is the current proprietor (as of 2006).

New York Lunch is open Monday, 9:30am–7:30pm; Tuesday–Thursday, 9:30am–8pm; Friday and Saturday, 9:30am–2am; Sunday, 11am–6pm.
